I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I don't think Yooka or Laylee should have any clothes. I like their designs as they are.

Talking of Christmas, though; I hope Playtonic releases a Christmas-themed card every year with interesting artwork that alludes to future games, just like Rare used to do.

Shorts for what? To conceal his hemi-penis and not-balls?
(Chameleons lack external genetalia)

I understand the asthetic of having distinguishing apparel, especially during transformations, but I like the streamlined design overall. Yooka's yellow belly and broad torso make no sense either (chameleons have laterally-broad sides, not bellies, to absorb sunrays and appear larger. They can huff themselves up a bit like blowfish, too), but it's a design that still suits the characters just fine in their own fantasy. But that's just my opinion.

That's a no from me. It'd be rather garish at the very least and I don't think it suits the style Playtonic are aiming for.

Plus red + green = eww

I don't understand why people are so adamant on giving Yooka clothes. The designs for the characters are already set, done, accept it, please.
Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.

Imagine there's this super amazing signature here.

I like doing it this way because then this signature could be many different things depending on the observer. It's very quaint, yet succint.

I'm still dissapointed there was no Mardi Gras theme for the announcement!

If there are stealth segments, I could see Trowzer trying to teach Yooka how it works and try to get a clothing disguise on him, see it not working well, and then just teaches him to turn invisible or whatever instead!
