I agree with many of you that having the game on just the Wii U might not be the best idea. While Rare's old games had a great home on Nintendo consoles, the Wii U's install base might not be enough to get Playtonic's games the attention they'll likely deserve.

While Wii U would be fitting as it's where Rare started I fear, and others have said this as well, the install base of it is just too small to get attention from anyone but hardcore Rare fans. And Nintendo may be prepping a new console for release by the time the game is ready for release.
They have already stated it was started as a project for PC so that is covered.
My personal preference is for PS4 as it's my main console. As well as have the largest worldwide market share and Playstation loves working with and promoting independent studios releasing their games on PS4.

Plain and simple, the Wii U would be the best choice for this type of games, as Jump'n'Runs do well on Nintendo systems (and perhaps the target audience is the right one here...). Nevertheless, great games should be available on as many plattforms as possible, of course.

When Rare was sold to Microsoft, many of us followed and bought into Xbox. While I prefer Xbox One, it would be unfortunate not to release this on all major platforms (PC, PS4, Xbox One, WiiU, etc).

I think Nintendo fans really long for these kind of games (more so than the users of other platforms) and you guys can really complement to Nintendo's library, as you did during the SNES and N64 era. It just "feels" right. I think this is because you can provide that exact same "magic" Nintendo games have (as you have shown in the past). I also think you will get the 100% support and dedication of the Nintendo fans if you choose to do so, which could have opportunities in the future (long-term thinking).
That said, for the fans of the game itself, multiplatform would be the best option.
