There have been loads of requests for Playtonic's next game to be a kart racer somewhat similar to Diddy Kong Racing. (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=70)
Thing is... Game 02 is probably going to take about 4-5 years to arrive*.

*Made-up statistic.
There have also been a few discussions about a fun multiplayer mode, but we're not sure what multiplayer features would be best. So, to solve this issue, I've put the ideas together: A multiplayer kart racer within Project Ukulele. It may sound a bit of a stretch, but it's not unachievable -- Tooie had a recurring FPS and a sports mini-game (Targitzan/Stonies) amongst others...
The kart racer doesn't need to be massively expansive -- it is just a mini-game after all. Perhaps a few tracks/challenges in a couple of levels to complete for a Pagie (similar to the Stony stadiums in Tooie); more tracks/items would be better, but even a simple race would make for a fun challenge.
It'd replace the Canary Mary A-bashing races that people complain about and could give us a glimpse into what Game 02 (if it does turn out to be a kart racer) could feel like. I've already written the imaginary dialogue for the imaginary rival: "You've won all the races for now, but this isn't the last you'll see of me!" *runs off and waits for his antagonist roll in Game 02: Unnamed Kart Racer*

It doesn't have to have a multiplayer option, but it just makes sense that way...
P.S. I know I've been anti-vehicle for a long time, but I should really clarify that I'm only against using a vehicle to carry out the platforming elements. A Playtonic kart racer can be nothing but amazing.
