A collectathon is about exploring and finding interesting stuff in well-crafted levels. Early access does not lend itself well to this concept, because unfinished collectathon levels are not a lot of fun and can ruin the final experience. I'd like to see earlier versions, but not before playing the final game. It's interesting how the game evolved, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the experience. So I'm not too hot for early access as a bonus. Also, I want a phyisical copy on Wii U. Early access probably is limited to PC.

I agree with you, but A Hat In Time did offer alpha and beta releases to backers, so it's not unheard of. I think I heard Playtonic mention it as a Kickstarter possibility, but I don't think I want to see that happen. Hence this thread!

The only benefit of offering early access is that it might draw in a large donation. The downside is that the people that have early access are likely to post videos of it online etc. and ruin the game's surprises...

Things I don't want in Kickstarter is Early Acces or Beta. This is a game from a part of old Rare and these games only have teasers nothing else.
I think they should keep it that way, because personally I hate Early Access. It has ruin games already and I don't want that this game gonna be ruined, because of that.

Things I don't want to see, Create a Character/Enemy/Music/Art/etc. This is a Game from them and they know the best to design. We wouldn't be so hyped about this game already if we don't know that they know what it is the best for this game.

And now the next thing I don't want to see, "Your Name in the Game!". Not in the Endcredits not as an NPC, maybe only as a sidenote like, the characters are joking about kickstarter and how much people throw money in.
If they have something like a money machine, probably there can be something like this.

And please do not build something in this game only for the backers. (Hope I write it right)

I think a beta of one specific area would be nice, say the first level. Even if it was more just to let us see the world and play around with moves and abilities than anything else.

I agree with you. Basically, what I want here, is a successor to Banjo not only in gameplay, but also in atmosphere. A game as a finished product, released when it is done, as a physical copy for a console, with no one playing it besides on media exhibitions without dlcs, iaps, always online, with the community only influencing the game's content in the way of being subject of some humorous line.

Would you like your experience ruined by game breaking bugs?
Would you like the gameplay not to feel 100% right? Something feeling off?
Would you like the developers not to get extra money to make the game even better?

If you answered no to all three, then you want early access.

Why wait a month when it could be fixed on launch day?
