Still people here don't understand how beneficial early access can be. It was Playtonic's original idea to have early access. You don't trust them? You seem to trust them enough to make a bug-free game. Well, this is their way of doing it.

I prefer to play a beta or demo of a solitary "training" level. Then I can give my thoughts.

Not part of Kickstarter could mean two things:
1) Early Access is open to everyone, not just to backers (this is the most common way to do Early Access anyway)
2) No Early Access at all

I don't need beta/early access. I'd prefer to have the game when it's finished.

If that's given as an option on the kickstarter I won't be taking part. Will just leave it to others.

If getting professional testers is an option, I really don't want to see Early Access, especially for this kind of game.
Longer answer to the bonus question, I'm sure it's been brought up before one way or another: "Unlock the Kickstarter Backer EXCLUSIVE in-game item/skin/power/area", I'm really not a fan of that, especially if at higher tiers. It makes me feel as though I have to pledge at that tier otherwise I miss out on that part of the game (no matter how minor) forever. An alternative I like is "Backers receive early access (but not the Steam kind) to finished future update items/skins/powers/areas" assuming there are future updates.
I didn't read past the first page of this thread (sorry), but I really liked the "demo of the first level minus the dialogue and cutscenes/story" idea. I like seeing free demos, getting (ugh) "early access, but again, not the steam kind" to one of those for Kickstarter backers would be wonderful.
PS: Agreed with the Original Post about no "backer-designed" or "likeness in-game" or any of that as well.

(Apologies if any of this had already been discussed or something. Just stumbled across this thread after changing my e-mail preferences. Best wishes to everyone here, I'm super excited for this game!)

EDIT: After posting this, realized it's a bit of a necro... Sorry about that. Hope it's one of those rare "helpful/discussion-provoking necros", but if not, feel free to delete.

No I don't want it. I want us all to enjoy the finished experience together, spoiler free.

No Early Access. Instead, hire a proper team of QA testers with the money from the Kickstarter.

no, I want the game to be done and completed for everyone. I'll be backing the game myself in may, but thats just because I want the game to happen and have the funding to be great.

Maybe the only reward could be a code to get the game slightly cheaper for when it comes out. But nothing more.

Have you seen what early access does to games these days, just look at steam.

I really would like something like the Alpha and Beta ftom A Hat in Time.
They weren't the whole unfinished game, just a couple of finished levels.
Maybe they could make an early version with only a world or two, and make it available to Kickstarter backers.
