Do you think there's more than 2 playable characters?

Seeing the presentation they had, do you think there's more than just a Banjo Kazooue like duo?

That's pretty difficult to say at the moment. Will have to wait and see what comes up within the future.

I don't think so. I think there'll be a duo of playable characters, and the rest of the cast will (potentially) be playable in their own games in the future.

I guess that only a duo will be playable in Project Ukulele (reptile/bird?), and the others will be playable in their own games later.

They'll probably focus on the two main characters of the not "bird and bear" since they'll be the ones learning special moves like in the old classics.

Not to say there could be a Mumbo stand in of course, just not the main focus.

It sounds like each game will have a duo of playable characters, but that was just my impression.

Could be a banjo tooie mumbo-esque segment or two with other characters. Or like Spyro 3 (I think) with certain recurring challenges.

Maybe. I could see other characters being slightly less prominent than Tooie, just for a small segment here or there. Donkey Kong Country was mentioned in the presentation, so I could see a character maybe having some DKC-style 2D platformer level. Then again, that could be seen as too much of a pace change. The point is, if there is another character, I wouldn't even come close to expecting them to be as prominent as all the DK64 Kongs. As it should be, the main duo will probably be the focus.

Probably better to just focus on the main duo for this game. Make them really polished and well done The more characters they add to play as, the more they gotta focus on THEM too.

Maybe some sort of hypothetical multiplayer mode would be cool, though.

Don't know...maybe that's more like Banjo's transformations of BK.

My understanding is that there will only be two playable characters in Ukulele, but all the other characters (friends or foes) may get their own game, or feature in new games, in the future. In other words, Ukulele and all subsequent Playtonic games will be set within the Playtonic Universe™. Within this universe, every single one of Playtonic's characters may show up as either the protagonist, or as a side-character/enemy/cameo. Everything is interconnected, similar to how Marvel has connected all their superheroes into one universe with The Avengers.

As long as each character goes beyond cosmetic differences with distinct gameplay (and a little bit of good voice acting wouldn't hurt) I'm fine with it.

I would really like them to focus on these two. One thing that I really like about BK is that I actually enjoyed the characters we played as, then there wasn't a lot of jumping around until the next game.

Establish them and makes us care about them first, then play around with minor characters.

Edit; To be clearer, I'm not against more characters, I just think too many is a little much when trying to establish interest - too much bouncing around, ugh. If they can make it interesting, why not?

could we be 2 to play to projet ukulele ? that would be awesome :) one does play the bird and the other plays the reptile :p

if we have two characters, that would be nice.

if more than 2 playable characters, not too much or the heroes will loose their charisma i think. if we can have a third rare caracter to play that would be cool, a villain became a good one by example

A third playable character in Project Ukulele like Banjo-Tooie did with Mumbo, would be excellent if done right.

Maybe they could try something similar to what was done in Spyro 3 Year of the dragon. Where you spend the majority of the game playing as the main duo, but occasionally take control of one of their friends to accomplish tasks unique to that character.
