The only things I can think of for a plot in a game are a rescue mission, treasure-hunting, or a competition (like races). I don't know if an overall plot for YL can be a competitive one, so that leaves two options. Treasure-hunting can be good story-driver in a collectathon.
Woaaaah, it finally came out! :o

I'd wager a guess that the plot of Yooka-Laylee would neither be the , nor trope. No, I think Playtonic is going for something more original than that. Like, for example: Yooka and Laylee's love of adventure beckons them to explore uncharted territory, which one fateful day leads them into discovering an eerie mountain with a peculiar face carved into it. Within its depths dwells the main villain, who's plotting something sinister for our unwanted guests who had the nerve to enter his/her domain...

I seriously do not want Amiibo support in the WiiU version of this game, that would honestly ruin it for me.
Everything should be unlockable by playing the game normally, not by buying gimmicky figures.

I trust the developers so much that I don't even have anything to point out here.

Modern FPS controls, mouse exclusivity, any mention of the term "app".

- limited combat abilities. I want to be able to destroy enemies in a myriad of way
- one part of the duo outshining the other in utility, development or personality
- sequel hooks. just make the game a complete experience
- romance of any sort
- amiibo functionality
- unused buttons on the controller
- no pro-controller support on the Wii U
- very poor off screen gameplay with small text and other such things

My point was that that technically happened one-sidedly in the BK game over animation.

I don't want the game to be constantly referencing Banjo-Kazooie. I know it's a spiritual successor and just by the nature of the game there's bound to be a few jokes about it here and there, and I'm fine with that. But I think if the whole game frequently alludes to BK and too much of the game design is analogous to things from that game, it would really cheapen the Yooka-Laylee IP and reinforce the idea that it's just "a consolation prize for a true Banjo-Threeie".

The devs say that the Banjo-Kazooie parallels in the game are played up a bit for marketing purposes, but I'm just itching to see more of what Yooka-Laylee has that's unique to the genre.

It seems I want a lot of things people in this thread don't want haha.

I trust the devs enough to not expect anything bad so here's what I want:

- Non playable cutscenes like Kazooie and Tooie
- A Water Level (more like Clanker's Cavern and less like Jolly Roger's Lagoon)
- A Scary Level
- A buton-smashing minigame
- Non-optional quiz
- Interconnected Levels.
- Collectibles that are lost at death.
- A Labyrint
- switch's cutscenes
- Cars (jk)
