Re imagining BK worlds in PU

Postby soulstorm64 » Fri Mar 27, 2015 6:28 pm

While taking a shower this morning something dawned on me that seemed like a cool concept for a one world to be sort of a Homage to the Original Banjo kazooie game, like a weird Variant of Mumbos Mountain or Treasure Trove Cove.

Hopefully this sparks up a good conversation, and i hope you all have a wonderful day :)

Theoretically speaking it sounds awesome, but I'm afraid they couldn't do it for legal reasons.

I'd rather have new worlds to explore. Project Ukulele should have its own identity.

Yep, it would take too much development time that could be used for something else. But (as said in some different thread) I'd love to see some nods to B-K/B-T that indicate a connection between these games in the same universe.

I've seen some ideas of a throwback world that makes an homage to the N64 era. Something like that could work well, but I'm not sure it's enough to sustain an entire world. It could be a sub-world though.

I would love to see homages to the BK, but I think that they will make new worlds all together. Now that is not to say that some of the worlds may be themed in a similar way. Look at every platformer, There is a grassy world, a desert world, a snowy world, a creepy world, a beach/ water world. I think we will get a little bit of the old feels, but also lot's of new twists too.

It'd be cool if, say, you managed to climb your way to the very tip top of some level through unconventional means, and as you pan the camera around you find you're able to spot some mountains way off in the distance that were half fire and half ice. Or something like that.

This is another great potential area for community involvement. Community can do things like these that would get playtonic sued.
