Grant plays Ukulele in this interview!

My takeaways:

- confirmed Laylee is afraid of the dark
- "Obviously there's a villain, which we haven't revealed yet, which for some reason these worlds are kind of disappearing, falling apart, and that kind of fits into one of the features in the game, which is the ability to expand the worlds with your Pagies." "And we can say it's not a witch!" "And he or she may or may not speak in rhymes.
- sonar is the new projectile, taking the place of eggs in BK (clever way to both keep the move and eliminate the extraneous collectible). We already knew it'd be helpful in finding the ghosts, too, but worth mentioning again.
- We already know about Playtonics and how you can upgrade abilities of your choice, but I'm mentioning it again because I really like that idea! I was conflicted in BK about collecting honeycombs, because my completionist self wanted to find them all, but my competitive self wanted to keep my health low to challenge myself. The customizability here in letting you choose the upgrades that are most useful to you personally is great.

Since the game is about books, I think it would be hilarious if they expanded the rhyme thing even further and had the villain speak in iambic pentameter. Or maybe the villain is trying to find their "thing" and switched through different literary gimmicks throughout the game

* Starts out rhyming
* Moves to Iambic Pentameter
* Moves to Haiku
* Narrates in some ridiculous fifth-person-removed type of perspective
* Etc

I'm more curious about whether the main villain of Yooka-Laylee can rival, or even surpass Gruntilda in charm and memorability. It will be a tough challenge for the developers to achieve that, but I'm confident that they can succeed in that goal. An audio cue called; psycho strings as his/her leitmotif would be a good start.
