Toybox(++)

Postby Piet » Wed Nov 11, 2015 7:33 am

So, they said the Toybox(++) experience will be available by the end of the year,
so more information HAS to be revealed really soon.
I think this (Toybox(++) released on time or not) is a good indicator to know if the full game will be released on time too.

Oh and it's not that I don't trust the guys at Playtonic, but I'm just REALLY curious. :)

I'm so excited for this. I can't believe it's going to be released within 2 months -- Playtonic sure know how to work quickly.*

I'm excited for the Toybox++ but I can be patient. If they don't manage to make it by the end of this year, I can understand that some stuff came up and they didn't get around to it. I'm just happy we can get an early demo of the game, which also doesn't spoil anything in the full game. :D
Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.

You know, I'm starting to realize that we're going to receive the Toybox++ as a Christmas gift.

I mean, it is going to be ready by the end of this year, right?

Besides, it kind off has a nice ring to it: you'll be able to receive the TOYbox++ demo as a CHRISTMAS GIFT.

I know they've been working on a snow (mountain?) level. Perhaps that is for the toybox... might be Christmas themed.

I think it'll probably be a jungle though.

I wonder what props there will be. Can we interact with them? E.g. could they put a football in there that can be kicked around; maybe a few goals just to get you used to how Yooka runs around.*

What would you guys like to actually see and be able to do in the demo? I would love something that keeps me coming back... something genuinely fun. Maybe some hidden secrets and mysteries to keep us hooked for a while. Maybe a treasure hunt with obscure clues. Start a new Stop 'N' Swop riddle... make a character imply that more of the demo can be unlocked by doing something really difficult.

*A useless football object -- I'm not suggesting a football spin-off! (Cough).

No! No spin offs!

But seriously, I can't wait.

Whatever is in the Toybox(++), I'd love for it to be fun to watch - whether it be for humor or interesting easter eggs - because I'll be looking forward to watching the game. (I don't think I get a toybox in what I backed, and I wouldn't want to play it on PC anyway.)
