Idea: Pan flute turtle

Postby Mave » Wed Jan 20, 2016 7:38 pm

Hello guys,

Recently, I had a strange dream in which a HUGE turtle occurred that had a pan flute on top of its shell. The turtle could make music with it, if it was inside the shell. When I woke up and remembered that idea, I immediately thought, that this might be a great character for Yooka Laylee, maybe as a friendly charakter that is placed in the center of a level and playing the theme of this world. If you talk to the turtle, it cames out and the (swamp?)-world silences.

Just wanted to share this idea here and would love to see this becoming (reality) :D

I am really looking forward to the game

It's a cool idea. But maybe a different species like a tortoise?

We need the characters to be different from B-K which already has a turtle (tip tup)

While we're making oddly specific suggestions, here's one of my own: carolers in the winter level. Channel phase could let them harmonize with the world theme, or alternately switch over to a Kirkhope/Wise repitior of carol adaptations.
The general idea of in-game elements making music sounds fun: carolers, pan flute turtle, street accordionist, snake charmer, awful karaoke singer ... heck, I'd even take an operatic pile of excrement.
