I don't see how that changes anything. PCs running Windows 98 won't be able to run PS4 games in the Unreal engine without major optimizations, and the 3DS won't be able to run Wii U games made in Unity without major optimizations.
DLC? UGANDA WILL NOT HAVE THIS SICKNESS!

... And I'm not really a fan of playing such games on a small screen. In the case of Y-L, such a port would be an unnecessary drain of resources too, since the game gets on every modern (home console) platform anyway. In fact, if was the one in charge, I'd stick to these for the next games as well

I knew this post would happen. It doesn't change anything. The consoles are not powerful enough. Props for not letting your dreams die though.

Haven't we thoroughly disgussed this in other threads already?
It's not going to happen, due to many reasons. End of story.

I think I remember Gavin Price saying he wants to create games that will get family and friends gathered around the TV. Handhelds don't really fit that vision.

I'm just hoping the 3ds does not get a "port" like every bad sonic game and crash and spyro, and I could go on but you get the point, I hate those poor controls, sub par aesthetic games.

I wouldn't put much stock in a Yooka-Laylee port for the New 3DS. However, there is a slight possibility that Playtonic Games might have an interest in making a handheld port for the heavily rumored 3DS successor the NX handheld, but only after they've launched Yooka-Laylee on the platforms they initially announced for it to be released on. As it would take more time and resources away if they did add yet another platform to port the game for in their already massive to-do list.
