I looked into the real book The Ivory Tower some more.
Thematically, The Ivory Tower is about predatory financiers (which Hivory Tower was clearly established as). Several of the characters are also "unspeakably corrupt", and are obsessed with wealth and pleasure. The modern day equivalent of this would almost certainly be Big Buzzness. The book is essentially an attack on excessive wealth and aggressive capitalism. I would say that based on what we know, this book is tied strongly to YL. I wonder if the book has a QuackCorp equivalent. In the book Abel Gaw and Frank Betterman are two of the corrupting millionaires.
Edit: In the book Abel and Frank die, and their nephew Gray receives a large inheritance (Gray = QuackCorp?). Gray, having little experience with business, trusts the fortune to Horton Vint. I think Horton Vint is the head of Hivory Towers in this situation. H for Horton, tacked onto Ivory Towers = Hivory Towers?
