I've been pondering for a while now about what Hivory Towers role will be in Yooka-Laylee, and I think I have figured it out what it is. Though, keep in mind it's just a theory of mine based on the little info we currently have.
The CEO of Hivory Towers is neither the main villain of the game, nor is his/her corporation "real" in Yooka-Laylee's universe. It only exists as an industrial level found in one of the many story books hidden in the game, that were written by the ghost writers. The recently posted tweets are nothing more than snippets of backstory of how Hivory Towers took over Quack Corp, and likely did to other companies in the past in its conquest of acquiring more wealth. I imagine Yooka and Laylee would be told of the events that transpired before their arrival by the former CEO of Quack Corp, who gives them one of his inventions to help them in their adventure.
The real story of the game takes place in . That's right, inside the mountain resides the main villain of Yooka-Laylee, and the face is how he looks like. But wasn't that a "red herring" you say? Yes, and a red herring is a distraction to keep you from figuring out the truth. Now, what if he has a loyal minion that served him? But later in the game you found out that this minion of his might not be all what she/he appears to be...
Lastly, what about the inventions (Play Tonics I bet) of Quack Corp that are likely to be found in other story books, where they don't appear in at all because they are just fictional characters in a book? Well, what if the main villain has the ability to make things from the story books "real"? Think about that for a moment.
