I mean, Yooka vs. BK was always going to be a balancing act.
But just looking at Dean's pre-box art, vs Males' for Banjo Kazooie ... definitely a distinct look and feel for Yooka.

Whoa nelly, that's a lot of new info! I actually looked up what my username and password was (since I had long-since forgotten them) just so I could come back to this forum and talk about this!

Well at least we will finally see new gameplay footage. I'm sure much has changed in a year.

I've only just realised that this glacier image is actually a screenshot from the game. I thought it was artwork. I think the game is looking incredible -- so polished -- beautiful.

Also just noticed Laylee's mouth is open underwater. Wonder if they plan to 'fix' that, or if it's intended.

You know what I just realised?

If, IF, Playtonic manage to get the game ship-shape, polished, and released by October, it would release three months after the Toybox in July. And the Toybox releases in a little under two months..

Yooka Laylee is (potentially, and honestly most likely not, but we can dream) a mere 5 months away.

AND IT'S STILL NOT SOON ENOUGH

Wow... Don't have much else to say.
The colors amazed me, I thought it was artwork.
Hype + 100% it seems exploration will be a real worthwhile experience once again.

We have to consider though that these screens were taken from the PC version, running at the highest settings. There will be downgrades for sure, although these don't have to be noticeable in a negative way. Seeing games in motion makes up for smaller downgrades in most cases, I guess.

Well, we don't actually know what version they were taken on. It's likely they were taken at the highest possible rez, but possible that that was a WiiU build or a PS4 build or anything else. There's nothing insane about the graphical quality in these pictures, especially when you compare it to some of the 3D Mario stuff (3D World, Kart, etc) from WiiU. It's not as intense as the Uncharted 4 announcement was.

Maybe Playtonic can specify some... well, specifications for us.

Or Andy?

Could we get what version, resolution, and if those were real time or pre-baked?

I was a little surprised to see the Toybox's screenshot labeled as "pre-alpha."
(See link in this threads OP for the update page containing the screenshot.)
... likely I don't understand these terms to their fullest meaning, but with a release in the next few months I'd think the Toybox would be at beta or at least alpha. The Kickstarter prototype level was considered pre-alpha.

Regardless it certainly looks fun and substantial!!

EDIT: while I'm posting, I'll echo everyone else on that Glacier World screenshot -- awesome! And someone could almost give it its own thread -- our most current in-engine look at the game, and it has some details worth discussing.
