I admit that when I first saw Puzz's body I was really surprised in, possibly, a negative way. It throws me off to see a human body in a game like Yooka-Laylee, especially one with the head of an octopus. It confuses me.

However... I've come to realise by looking at the beautiful screenshots today that Playtonic can really do no wrong. A character's design is only one aspect of their entire character, and characters are only a small aspect of an entire game. We still have amazing worlds to explore, challenges to complete, platforms to climb, references and jokes to enjoy, secrets to find and of course things to collect.

Nothing will worry me any more. I am so excited for this game.

And the game is only one aspect of the entire Playtonic universe. Just think about THAT! I'd love a Dr. Puzz's Mean Bean Machine game for 3DS.

Personally I really like it a lot. It's like a comic book a little. Scientist has accident, becomes part octopus, invents great things. She even seems to have some paint on her lab coat. She's a squid now, she's a kid now.

It's very easy to miss the pun in Dr. Puzz's name if you don't have a British accent, heh.
Took me a while to get it because I'm not a Brit.

I want to like her but I just can't stop associating the character with, and I know this sounds ironic, a children's television show. It looks like something I've seen when watching TV with my 3-year-old nephew.

I suppose a world full of animal characters etc. could also easily feature in a kid's show, but... I don't know. All the characters up until have mostly been quite minimalist, I guess. I can't pinpoint exactly why I feel a bit off with Dr Puzz... it's just a gut reaction.

Hoooowwweeevvvvveerrr... I am sure I will grow to like the design when I see her animated and speaking. This isn't the first time I felt a bit unsure about something, but I grew to love everything else.

I like Dr. Quack, that's that.
I also like Dr. Puzz overall, but the tentacles on her chin weird me out in a strange kind of way.
If those weren't there, she would be really awesome. :)

I didn't get the pun at all but now it's been pointed out i like it.
Dr puzz does sound v much like octopus.

However some people have the British accent confused here, we don't pronounce it octopuzz lol
As taylor said it's pronounced octerpuss.
Surely nobody pronounces it an octopuzz?

American pronunciation is ahk-tuh-puss("u" as in "push"), sometimes ahk-toh-puss. Dr. Puzz is dahk-ter-puhz.

Dr Puzz looks and sounds better than Dr Puss in my opinion, even though the latter makes the pun more obvious. A slightly veiled pun is probably better anyway because it'll give people a pleasant surprise when they realise it...

Not to mention Dr Puss sounds a bit rude. Though I don't suppose that bothers Playtonic!
