Toybox Vs Toybox++?

Postby soulstorm64 » Wed Jun 01, 2016 12:36 am

I don't know if this has been asked recently, but seeing as how the Toybox experience is coming along, we haven't really heard anything about how the 2 variants is going to come into play, seeing as they have had trouble with what they originally planned to do in the past. With it pretty much being a month and some odd days away. Is it still going to be separated from which tier you purchased it at? Or is whoever that purchased the experience will get the final "box" despite what tier of Toybox they purchased?

The Toybox++ experience will have more content than the normal Toybox experience.
I.e. bigger world, more moves, more collectables, etc.

This image is taken from the Kickstarter page:

So yes, the kind of Toybox experience you get depends on the amount of money you "donated".

Yeah, I don't think they've actually stated what the difference will be, just that there will be "more" to the Toybox++ experience.

It'll be interesting to find out the difference though!

What Im confused about it am I getting both versions? Im not conplaing the more the better, but two demos?

What im guessing is the toybox is going to be a level with no story and just fooling around.

The toybox ++ is going to be a level with a short story and more to do.

I hope the Toybox(++) will also be released on consoles through download codes or something.
I would LOVE to play it on my Wii U!

Well, as far as i know the Toybox (normal and +) is only going to be released on PC.

That´s a thing i asked myself, when they mentioned the date for the Toybox. They also mentioned in the EDGE Magazine, that all moves are going to be avaiable in the Toybox. And i guess that´s a thing for the Toybox++.

But: Is that Screenshot from the enhanced Toybox, or from the normal one?

Would be cool, if Andy or someone of the Team, could bring light in the darkness. :D

^^^ Agreed. Preferably David Wise.

Anyways to be clear: we don't know anything about the ++. The KS has already shown to not be reliable on this topic ... much has changed.

The screen we have is the basic. Playtonkc wouldn't falsely advertise, they'd be setting people up to fee disappointed.
My guess -- the ++ content will be something a bit axillary. Maybe a few more moves, a simple mine cart demo, a transformation to try, an NPC meet and greet ... stuff like that. Not sure they'd want to partition off too much content.

Sounds the the Toybox may also be a base area and the Toybox+ might be an expanded region. Similar to how the pagies will work

Ah I see. Though as mentioned above, the Toybox has changed a lot from the Kickstarter days. I would treat the Kickstarter description with some doubt for now, especially as the recent updates claim the Toybox will contain all the moves -- Playtonic didn't distinguish between the ++ version.

But with that said, I think it's pretty obvious the advanced Toybox will feature 'more'; whether that be in level size, props, or secrets etc. I wouldn't expect much more however.
