The game's looking pretty good so far. Most of my complaints about the game seem to have been resolved. Even the graphics, which were my biggest qualm with the game, are starting to grow on me. Seeing everything in motion really gives the game a whole new look and feel that you can't get from looking at static images.

I thought Playtonic was just spoon feeding us words to excite us when they said Yooka Laylee would be bigger and more ambitious than Banjo Kazooie. They proved me wrong today. Each unexpanded world has a grand total of 25 Pagies and are roughly 4 times the size of Bob-omb Battlefield according to Gamespot. That is absolutely insane. Judging by the trailer, there's going to be a lot of variation in getting the Pagies too, as opposed to the overly abundant and repetitive tasks and minigames in Donkey Kong 64.

I used to be really upset about the world count, but now that I know how huge they are, I'd choose the bigger yet fewer worlds over the smaller yet numerous worlds any day. I always preferred the bigger worlds of Banjo Tooie because and how they encouraged exploration. It would be nice to have a bit more variety in the environments, but maybe that's an issue they can solve with the world expansions.

There really isn't much I didn't like about the trailer. The only thing that really unsettled me was Yooka's voice. Laylee sounds just like how I imagined her, but Yooka sounds annoying and unbefitting of a chameleon. I always took Yooka to be childlike and excitable so I always imagined his voice to be higher and more energetic, but I suppose I could just have a false perception of the character. The verdict on his voice seems to be overall negative, so hopefully Playtonic looks into changing it.

One last thing: the opening with the Playtonic logo, twinkly music, and starry background is absolutely, 100% perfect.

Edit: Yooka's speaking voice appears to be really inconsistent with his in-game voice. In the trailer, at about the 18 second mark, right after Yooka and Laylee exit their rolling animation, you can hear Yooka make a high pitched "hee" sound. Immediately following at the 20 second mark, you can hear Yooka making grunting noises as he jumps that are much higher pitched than his speaking voice. Again, at the 45 second mark when Yooka stomps on the cannon, you can hear him saying "hooplah" in a higher pitched voice. Is it just me or do these sounds not match the sound of his speaking voice at all?

Money well spent, This trailer increases the hype by so much. I can not wait for the toyboxes after seeing this.

I have watched it 5 times. Was it just me or did it look like you will race the cloud in the begining of the video.

The trailer is insane! :D
I'm so excited for this game, and don't care at all about the delay. But I still can't get behind 5 worlds. Especially when the repeatedly said "more than 5 worlds". So honestly it's kinda false advertising is there isn't at least 6. Dont h8 pls

Of course the hub world should be a huge place with a complicated series of paths and sections, through which we'll spend the majority of our time achieving countless goals, just as Grunty's Lair and Isle o' Hags were.

That trailer was overall just...beautiful. The ending was probably the best bit of it though, mainly for the character dialogue noises. I loved that.

I wonder if their faces next to the health and energy will change the lower your health is, like in Banjo-Kazooie.
Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.

I've just noticed. Ship Creek. Their ship is up a creek. Literally. No paddles.

That's amazing!
5 worlds is a bit worrying but they look so huge, maybe bigger than Banjo Tooie!

The only thing that bothered me (it's probably just me) was the lack of shadowing under the characters. Sure at times I can see a small blob shadow but sometimes I noticed it's not there (and weirdly moves away at times?) and a lot of the time I think when the character is naturally on the ground or walking, the lighting connecting the ground seems to lack darkness to look natural. Without it, it's hard to sense that the character is on the ground. But then again, I played games like Shadow of the Colossus and it worked fine without it. lol

Haven't read through all the pages yet. Maybe no one has mentioned this. But really quickly:

Laylee has to have this giant beach towel with her face on it. Yooka is a quite a bit less extravagant with his towel only just the right size to lay on. I love these kinds of subtle, yet very telling characterizations.

My only complaint is that I cannot turn green and inhabit this games world.

Also: love Yookas sunglasses at the end if the trailer. Wish I could pull those off
