Ha, Playtoxic.
Any of you who've played Animal Crossing know there's something pleasurable about drinking that in-game cuppa coffee. The option to vend something you sip just for fun would be amusing. Also I already want to gift a hot Cocoa to poor, shivery Dr. Puzz in Ice World.

More difficult -- Nintendo has shown an appeal to Luigis slippery platforming.
Neutral -- Think Treasure Trove Cove codes. Some were just for fun -- big head, paws etc.
... or the Shovel Knight amiibo, which gave gamers not just color swaps, but alternate visual effects.
It could be that the N64 shader mode is a playtonic.

Some tonics I expect we will see:

Power ups. Lower energy cost on rolling/flying/stealth/etc. Gain more health from butterflies. Gain more energy from butterflies. Maybe one that makes certain moves free? There doesn't seem to be "eggs/feathers" so none of that, but you get the idea.

Some tonics I hope to see:

Useless ones! Big head mode. Turn into a household appliance. Rave Mode (laser lights and stuff everywhere?) or Rextro Mode (same crazy lights idea but with a Rextro theme).

Ideas for Toxic tonics?
Every enemy does double damage, every enemy splits in two when killed and must be re-defeated, always heavy (cannonball Yooka), controls reversed, controls flip 90 or 180 degrees every X number of seconds (control pad too).

Just some ideas.

They did just briefly mention there are some secret collectibles beyond just Pagies. MAN I hope there's something Stop N Swoppy in this.

Taylor -- I like this connection that's being made. Cheato / the cheat codes allowed Rare to hide these arbitrary super-secrets in the game. Some of of this stuff could be hidden quite deviously!

On the topic of tea: I can't tell if Playtonic has already been teasing something tea related actually being in the game, or if they're just being British :lol:

To this day, I'm still thinking if Playtonic Games will implement a Stop N' Swop-like system for Yooka-Laylee, as it is tradition.

In line with the toxic tonics, and possibly suggested in a reply already - still have to read through them, but will fall asleep as I do that - I would be in favor of a "Frail Tonic" that limits your HP at 1. I also hope Tonics are useable in a New Game+ fashion.

I'm wondering whether these 43 tokens are rewards for completing challenges that you can use to exchange for a Play Tonic, or if they are used to unlock Rextro's arcade games. The tokens are all based on Playtonic's logo. Rextro wears one as a medallion around his neck. Play Tonics or arcade machines -- it could be either -- or both...

I feel like that's a concept page full of mock ups. Iterations they went through while deciding which tokens to use. I highly doubt there'll be all of those in the game. Probably 1, or maybe 12 or whatever. 3rd column 2nd row looks quite a bit like a triforce :lol:
