Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.

I fully trust they'll find a solution to the 200 feathers situation -- something that "feels" right with their professional intuition and playtests well.
They could do the thing where if you fet 30/30 feathers in a zone/section of the world, then that's the high score and they all turn red in that area. You can still collect red feathers but they don't count for anything. However if you do get all 200/200 in one go, you get an achievement or sticker or something.

If anything worries me 25 pagies to start sounds a big difference from Banjo ... curious how that will look

These are interesting ideas, but it does seem to needlessly complicate things. I think the simple answer is that quills will disappear as you collect them. They can't reappear every time you enter the level like in Banjo-Kazooie because you give them to Trowzer. In BK, Bottle's moves were free. Some complex and unnecessary system or algorithm would have to be put in place to fix this.

For the people who want quills to reappear, remember that there will be a "New Game+" after beating the game normally once where all moves are unlocked. This is as close as we will probably get to the old BK note system.
