How did A Hat in Time handled their alpha/beta? Was it through Steam? If so, that's probably how it'll work for Yooka-Laylee too. And it's not like Playtonic are unknowns just starting up in the industry, so I'm pretty sure it'll be easy for them to do it through Steam.

A demo of Bloodstained was released to backers on Steam and, for as popular as it is, I haven't really found or heard much of it getting pirated. I think the Toybox will be taken good care of, hopefully.

What's even at stake here besides a slight sense of backer exclusivity?
Anyone who pirates the demo will get an introduction to Playtonics world, no harm done:

The only area where I think exclusicity matters significantly is with the physical stuff. As much as I would love that character parade poster, I appreciate the value of backers having super-exclusive merchandise

I'm getting way too anxious about this toybox release! i hope the release is through steam. Does anybody else plan on making a video of the Toybox once you get it?

My situation for this Toybox season involves playing on OSX, so hope it's not just PC. Also, I'm assuming no chance of console Toybox, right?

Rayman Legends Wii U did get this sort of demo app way ahead of release. But that was available to all, vs the backer exclusive toybox

Doubt it's coming until right at the end of the month.

If it's delayed further, fair enough, I won't mind, but I will groan a bit and I'm sure many people will doubt the final game will release on time.

I wonder how much, if at all, the more ambitious toy box has pushed back the final game's release already.

I really hope they won't release it next weekend, since I'm out of town from friday until monday. I will take my laptop and at least one controller with me just to be sure, but of course it'd be muuuuch better if they release it some time before that.

Anyway, still super HYPED.
