Unless it's a Rare character, I don't think I'm interested in cameos. Shovel Knight didn't excite me very much, but I see his appeal and see how it may help sales (though perhaps moreso in Shovel Knight's favour).

OH, MEAT BOY, HE'D BE NEAT! ...Although I'm not sure if he talks... Come to think of it, I don't know if a lot of these characters talk. The Human Child from Undertale especially doesn't talk (that's why I think Sans is a better choice).

Guacamelee's Juan would be awesome. Maybe its not a retro-revival but a revival to the 2d metroidvania games and the game has also plenty retro game references and easter eggs.
