I didn't get screwed. I've had a physical copy on PC and a digital copy on PC ordered since day 1. 
If anything I'm coming out ahead because now the Nintendo Anchor won't be holding my frame rate hostage.

I'm a little disappointed since I'm waiting to see how much a Switch costs before deciding when to buy one and I won't be able to play on day one but I'm sure it will be worth the (hopefully short) wait.

It answers things like "can I get a refund" and "why did you wait so long to announce this". So. All the outrage has also already been explained. Spoiler: A lot of my speculation was correct

TLDR: Technical problems with the WiiU make a functional release impossible.
