I'd really like to see
• A retail version of the game
• An N64 replica
• A soundtrack CD

Are we talking stretch goals here, or backer rewards?...

- Wii U version
- More tunes from the talent
- Amiibos for the characters
- Newgame +, and whatever that may contain.

Until more of the game is revealed, I can't really say what would be fitting for stretch goals :p.

Maybe a stretch goal can be like a museum of old rareware works like statues of characters and old concept art. That of course would be hard to do. But I'd like to see maybe a co-op mode since it never saw the light of day in B-Tooie

I personally want stretch goals to be things that add on to the game. I can't think of something specific off the top of my head, but for my money i would want it to feed into the game to flesh it out even more.

Perhaps some sort of online multiplayer would be interesting...

One thing I DON'T want to see is half-a-game at the base funding goal. I've seen too many Kickstarter projects promise features at higher funding levels that should be in the game to start with, or at least should not be explicitly tied to a dollar figure (extra levels, multiplayer etc), to encourage people to keep donating just so the game ends up decent.

I understand that more money leads to more development time and a better game, but to explicitly say "we'll put this stuff in precisely if you give us X dollars" just seems to me like an excuse to plead for more funding. More funding is great, but the tactics commonly used are deceiving and depressing. The developers should put in their best possible effort regardless of the funding. They can't pretend to know that X levels cost Y dollars.

Perhaps you can do something a little innovative, if/when the base goal is reached, start giving a bi-weekly update on what the current extra funding will allow for, and what additional (future) funding could be used for.

The stretch goals I like best are "fun" stretch goals, not a shopping list of features that should be in the base tier.

I don't want Kickstarter-exclusive in-game content.

I feel like putting too many stretch goals that are in-game features, levels, characters, modes is a trap.

Focus on promising and delivering the game you want in the base goal, I feel like most of the time the money you earn after the base goal is still used on the base game, and extra features just take more of your money when you can't really afford to divert any more to the "extras", at least that is my experience while observing most of the kickstarters I backed.

I for one would expect no stretch goals actually, but I know they are necessary to keep the funding coming, it is really hard to come up with a good strategy actually.

I loved a lot of the suggestions made in the broadcast. Physical copies of the game, the soundtrack, some kind of development art book or DVD documentary... signed copies of the aforementioned would be awesome. Also the opportunity to voice a character would be great - though probably not as a backer reward (it's kind of for selfish reasons because I have a friend who is a voice actor, I'd love to hear him in a game ¦D )

(Hope I get some extra money by May!)

EDIT : Have realised that this is a post about STRETCH goals and not rewards in general...d'oh.

I hope game-changing rewards are very limited. I do not want loads of fans to do the voices etc. -- I feel it might mess up the quality of the game. If you're going to let fans voice some characters, keep it to the bare minimum.

Unless they offer to donate, like, £1,000,000. Then sure.
