Steam early activation?

Postby MazLad » Fri Feb 10, 2017 11:30 am

Apologies if this has been covered already. Just wondering if Steam backers will be receiving activation codes before the Day One release, so it can be activated and then ready to download on release?

A little worried about waiting on email activation as a backer when the game is available for others to buy.

Another thing I guess we're looking at the usual Steam 6pm UK time launch?

^^ I know all very minor stuff in the scheme of things, just keen to plan launch day around it! :P

I guess that's not the case. If you go digital, you're bound to the official release date, since the activation is, well, digitally timed to said date. Only physical copies will appear early in stores, as far as I know.

So even if you get the code, steam will probably only offer a preload and keep it locked till the activation.

My main concern is needing to wait on receiving a code, while the game is otherwise activated for buyers on Steam.

"Game codes for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC will be made available nearer the time of launch on April 11th, 2017. These will be made available through BackerKit."

This is form the big faq they made recently. I think the codes will be sent out a day/a few days before April 11th.
