Ice Race glitch

So every time I start the race Nimble crashes into me and causes us to merge meaning he wins the race every time despite me being stuck to him. The game also doesn't pick up that I'm going through the gates as part of nimble.

Anyone get this glitch?

I've yet to have this glitch, but I'll go ahead and add it into the list in the bugs & glitches thread! Is this specifically in the Switch version, or are you playing a different one?
