The one thing I want to stress most to the Devs if they happen to read this

IT NEEDS DIFFICULTY

Many of the Donkey Kong Country games had very challenging levels. All these retro-style 2D platformers are only good if they capture the spirit of the 8/16 bit eras, DIFFICULT games.

Tough, but fair. I found YL1 to be overall too easy, so I'm hoping they really up the challenge level for this game.

It’s pretty cool that this game is coming out with physical editions for all consoles at the same time. And while it’s not entirely specific when it’s going to release we do know it’s going to release this year, “sooner than you think” apparently.

It’s all pretty exciting. The more I think about it the more excited I get. The game looks great, it harkens back to a style similar to Donkey Kong Country: tropical freeze which is a game I really love (second behind DKC2). It also looks like it still maintains the charm of the first game but with a dash of more creativity.

I still want an eventual Tooka-Laylee, but I’m more than happy with this in the meantime.

Now I understand why they announced this before e3. It would have been completely over shadowed by Banjos return.

I'm more of a DKC fan than a BK fan, and in general of 2D platformets, so this game actually has me more exited than the original YL (especially since I don't have the means to play DKC Tropical Freeze so far). The game still needs and deserves to be judged on its own terms (maybe it's the music but it seems to have a slower pace and a more relaxing tone than DKC games).
As a bonus the 3D overworld parts remind me of a 2D Zelda game and I'm a Zelda fan too. This combination is very interesting, like two games in one. I wonder if the team split to work on them separately.

It was already a foregone conclusion that I'll buy this as soon as it comes out, but now that I've seen the gameplay demo I'm actually excited to play it! The trailer was nice an all, but this demo did a much better job of showing the game off. That's to be expected I suppose. I only wish I could properly hear the level music while they were playing it. Hopefully it won't be too long before they release a gameplay video like this with nothing but the in-game audio.

Probably the best info from the demo video is that the game has Not clear on if the Impossible Lair itself is counted in that level total. Depending on how you count the levels and boss/lair levels, that looks like roughly
