I was thinking something like King K. Rool as Donkey Kong 64 just got released on the Virtual Console :)

I think I would enjoy them coming into Sm4sh, but it probably isn't going to happen as any third parties have been proven popular characters with a strong historical franchise.
Woaaaah, it finally came out! :o

If this ever did happen, it would probably be way in the future. I'm talking at least after 2 games from Playtonic, this is to assure the franchise is established and they aren't putting random characters in the game.

This early?

With no names, barely know what they look like and no move set?

"I vote for Character 1 and Character 2 from Project Ukulele. Because... hype!"

I gotta agree, there's not even a practical way to vote for them right now. I voted K Rool, that was a cool idea.

It's way too early to vote for them. As awesome as this new duo might be, we don't have names or even appearances yet. It could be another Greninja situation, though, but that's highly unlikely for a potentially third-party franchise from a company that hasn't released any games yet.

I voted for Wolf, though. Loved that guy in Brawl.

So, Smash Bros are taking character nominations through the official website for future DLC characters for the Wii U/3DS versions. Could it hurt to cast a vote for our new Project Ukelele protagonists?

It almost certainly won't get them into Smash Bros, but it couldn't hurt to get Nintendo to recognise Project Ukelele.

Yeah, it's way too early to request Ukelele characters in Smash. Heck, we're not even sure if this game will even be released on a Nintendo platform yet :P

Thee ballots are going to be open until october, and in May, we'll know the names of the heroes and game. I'll wait.

I do think it's quite premature to be suggesting the heroes of this game as potential Smash contenders. We know pretty much nothing about them at this point in time, and while we will probably find out a little bit about them for the Kickstarter, it's likely not going to be enough to build a Smash fighter (combo) around.

I'm sure Nintendo will receive a lot of votes for characters that have little to nothing to do with Nintendo at all, but I expect the votes that will be seriously considered will be for characters who have established franchises on Nintendo systems.

I know I would probably be a little upset if characters that have little to nothing to do with Nintendo's systems and games started showing up in a Nintendo-centric fighting game, even if they're the popular vote. I don't think Nintendo needs to pander to the masses who just want the popular character of the day/week/month to show up in the game, and would rather see Nintendo draw from their past (based on people's suggestions/votes) and bring characters who may have been neglected over time back into the spotlight.
