Just out of curiosity, how much would it cost Playtonic to buy all the old Rare IPs? I bet that if they did that or bought back some of them, they'd be making remakes, reboots, remixes and heaps of other awesome games on modern-age consoles that us fans would appreciate and would boost their sales. What are Microsoft going to do with them? Sweep them under a rug and create a compilation for each Rare anniversary? I really think Playtonic or someone 'smart' within the Rare department at Microsoft should really do something about it, similar to what you all said earlier in this thread.

I could imagine the shelves of EB Games and Gamestop full of our old favourites on the newer consoles and people buying them left right and centre. You may call me foolish but I reckon that if the right person made the decision to do so who actually has some sort of authority in the department, they could make that happen. It won't just be great for the fans but if it's either Playtonic or Microsoft who action it, they'll benefit in sales, recognition and there will be a lot more resources to create even more excellent and upcoming titles.

It'd be nice if Playtonic did buy at least some of the IPs from Rare Limited.

Instead of just sitting there, as stated PT would try to do something, which would turn out great, and... :)

However Microsoft's lobby of gits would refuse because they want more money. If Rare made a game that didn't sell well, then MS would probably try to run a bus into their offices or something because they didn't make enough money.

I might as well just look to indie development as companies get lazier and lazier... MS slapped a start menu and added a few tweaks to its last OS and slapped the name Windows 10 on it, for god's sake...

A) They couldn't afford them
B) Rare wouldn't sell them
C) Playtonic don't need or want them. They are creating a brand new universe of their own with all brand new characters.
