I'm Playing Banjo-Kazooie...

...for the first time. On the computer, that is.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Have fun?

What sort of advice are you looking for, exactly..? As far as advice for playing the game, I suggest just having fun, and if you find yourself getting stuck, there are some pretty good guides on the 'net you could look up to help you get unstuck and back on track.

As far as emulating the game, you shouldn't have too many issues (having both played and 100% completed both it and Banjo-Tooie not long ago). The game does use some framebuffer effects that some emulator and graphics plugin combos can have issues rendering but I don't believe its anything game-breaking. (I think it just affects the jigsaw transition in Kazooie.)

When you meet the good sister of Grunty, Brentilda, listen to what she says & remember it. That will be useful at some point... Even though it doesn't at first glance.

I would advise paying for it on xbla, a much smoother and polished experience.

Banjo games are on the XB360 marketplace only. Not available on XBOne.

That's weak. Anyway, maybe they'll be getting both games as VC version on the Wii U when they start negotiating about Banjo being in Smash... (one can dream)

I'm playing this for the first time on XBLA. Game is so much fun.

Frustration kicks in a lot for me but hopefully not for you.

What's the problem with the note system?

It was like the only difficulty in the game. Sure, it was annoying to die in Rusty Bucket Bay or Click Clock Wood, but you felt like you achieved something when you got them all.

Make sure you grab the mumbo token in the pyramid that is full of water in Gobi's Valley before you get the jiggy at the bottom. Otherwise, the water is drained and you can never reach it again. I learned that lesson yesterday while replaying B-K on Project64 (though I luckily had an earlier save state so when I found that out, I went back to that one).

With that said, a request for Playtonic: Please refrain from adding anything to the new game that can be lost forever if something isn't done quite right. It's frustrating not being able to 100% complete a game because of things like this.

Mumbo tokens are nothing but a currency, they don't count towards 100% you don't need them all.
