Another oldie from around '99/2000 I believe. Also drawn with markers and a pinch of "PhotoImpact(!) MAGIC" for the fancy motion blur. Again done for RareNet back then. I think I should rescan this someday...the quality is still oldschool MedievalRes in all its glory . Despite only having 5 or 6 preview images to chew on, the imaginary Dinosaur Planet was so huuuge in my head (like a Zelda but done by the cool guys PLUS effin dinosaurs!!)

Oh my god, YOU made this picture??
Ever since I knew Starfox Adventures was supposed to be Dinosaur Planet at first, I was scanning the web for all image and video material I could find, and this was one of them. I was so impressed by this back than, I legitimately thought it was some official concept art. =D (Been having on my HDD for YEARS, too.)
You can guess the look on my face right now.

Thank you...I feel really honoured! I would have never guessed that this image could one day be associated with the original Dinosaur Planet history. The Rare guys were like unreachable rockstars to me (and still are)...
But funnily I found it quite a few times in combination with Dinosaur Planet stories by now...the Internet is a funny place.

I just scanned it in a clean and higher resolution for you beautiful people...(means that there is officially no place on earth where you can download this picture in a higher resolution...crazy isn't it?)

Did the Drawing in about 30 minutes including coloring, So it's okay that it's rough, I kind of like it better that way anyway.

Marcus...you really should think about continuing your project! You never know where this might end up some day. Don't underestimate your Kiwi design! I think its a genuine and pretty inspiring base worth to build on. Just fill your world with story, and dare to introduce your own style (its of course a very nice Rare tribute nevertheless). Seriously...I would love to play a real game with your Kiwi!

@NiloStudo : Youre welcome...it's possible. I found it myself on the most unexpected places lately...an old brazilian games magazine for example, and it was featured on the RareNet site around 99/2000...the place to go back then if you were starving for Rare updates, maybe thats where you have seen it.

@Camiluna: Thank you. One technique I found to be very helpful was to combine markers with colored fine liner pens for sharp outlines and details, white ink pens for highlights and colored pencils on top for additional texture such as fur and stuff.

Thank you very much. I often thought about what I could do with that character. In fact kiwi is rather "loved" by friends of me and others. Maybe I should make something more with that character at one point or another.
