Project Ukulele is the working name, I think, just like Banjo-Kazooie started as Project Dream. If you used PD to describe Banjo, you'd be talking about a totally different Rare game altogether.

To get technical, Project Dream is what Banjo started its life as, but it was to be extraordinarily different from what we eventually got. A more fitting analogy would be if Project Dream had come out the way it was originally intended and ended up with the final title of, say, Edison's Wacky Adventure(although it probably would've ended up simply called Dream or something), then Project Ukulele would be the Dream to Whatever Ukulele's Real Title Is's Edison's Wacky Adventure.

It's a bit hard to come up with a good analogy, as project names are more of a console thing than a game thing.
