Sea of Thieves doesn't seem all that appealing at the moment, and I already own a decent portion of the games in Rare Replay. I appreciate what Rare's(?) doing, though: trying to introduce or reintroduce players to some of the games that made them so well loved (sans DKC) and Sea of Thieves could have promise in the future. I'm just glad that I didn't put my hopes up for Banjo-Threeie and that Rare seems to be free of Kinect Sports for now.

Y'know...

Is good that Rare will no longer release any more crappy, Kinect-related games and all, but their recent announcements is a tid bit dissapointing.

The fact that they're releasing Rare Play is the fact that Rare just pulled a Square Enix (in the context that this year, SE said that they're making a direct port of Final Fantasy {7, I think?} for the PS4 {not a remake, or God forbid, a reboot}). Another thing that I don't like is that this game appears to be as an XBOX One exclusive. This compilation would've meant something if it was released in the eras where the idea of making compilation games was more popular (see Midway Arcade Classics, Megaman Anniversary Collection, Super Mario All-Stars, Sonic Mega Collection Plus, SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1, Metal Slug Anthology, etc., etc., etc.). In other words, this compilation right here would've been something if, get this, Humble Bundle made a deal with Microsoft and released this game, not just for XBOX One, but for the PC as well. This game would've also worked for the PC! Why did M$ and Rare dodged that opportunity? IDK.

That point is that, again, Rare might have forgotten about everything that has to do with Kinect, but I still feel that they need to improve so many things.

Well Playtonic Games, like Tupac would say, "All Eyez On You."

Such bitter disappointment...

I, alongside Scrubber, thought they would be announcing a new IP.

I agree that the Sea of Thieves trailer seemed to lack that "spark" of Rare personality, but how about we give it a chance before automatically dismissing it, eh?

The backwards compatibility announcement has convinced me to get an Xbox One over a PS4, so I will definitely be picking up Rare Replay, which contains many games I own and love as well as many games I've never had the opportunity to play. If Sea of Thieves gets a good response (ignoring the noise from bitter ex-fans who can't fathom another game getting released before Banjo-Threeie), then I may pick that up, as well..

I voted new I.p. yet teased about Viva Pinata.

I wonder if the Rare replay will all be remastered and cleaned up graphically or just straight ports. Anyone hear anything?

Watch this video. It talks about what they are doing with the games in the collection. It definitely looks like they are putting a lot of care and effort into this product. I don't have any confirmation, but, based on this, I would say they will be sprucing it up a bit.

Rare Replay looks ace, can't wait to pick it up. They are putting a lot of love into it. Loads of extras, new cheats, behind the scenes, presentational openings of each game etc

I wouldn't mind Rare Replay, just on the basis that I don't have a huge collection of old games and systems. It would be a simple way to catch up on the old games I miss such as Blast Corps, and Jet Force Gemini. Only problem with the game is that I don't have an XBOne, so I'm not getting it at this point.

I'll hold out judgment on Sea of Thieves until there is more information on that game. Neither pirates nor MMORPGs hold my attention, so the game has a lot to do to impress me.

Okay. Real talk now.

I'm willing to play both Rare Replay, and Sea of Thieves, if, and ONLY IF, at some point Rare decides to port these only two games directly to PC.

If not, then I won't buy it.

Rare belongs to Microsoft, right? IMHO, it was pretty idiotic and lazy of Rare to not make a port of these two upcoming games for PC.

Am I right?
