I suppose they should have said diversity of different cultural backgrounds instead of saying diversity in all forms. My take away from hearing voices here, the kickstarter page, and the steam page is people object to what appears to be moral grandstanding and making an event out of removing Jon.

Believe me, I understand COMPLETELY why they wanted to distance themselves from Jon's statements. But people feel the execution was knee-jerk. People feel as though this was a statement and gesture that didn't need to be made. That all Playtonic needed to say is "we don't support Jontron's views and they in no way represent Playtonic games" and left it at that.

There is outrage culture on both sides of the political divide and the only winning move is not to play. :/

Can't believe it took 12 pages before we got a white genocide shout out. How many till we get to flat earth? I'm sure ya'll can figure out how to tie this back to Judaism so you can hit bingo on crazy conspiracy theories.

Gonna peel outta this one for good I think because once you have people who say things like "slander the white race by saying they are equal to blacks" while others dive straight into that crazy white genocide soup there is little if no productive dialog to be had from there. Especially not when they, of all people, think they are qualified to give a definitive outlook on what is and isn't racist.

Ya'll talkin about the current political landscape while you're still getting played by Lyndon B Johnson.

"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

Glad to see you won't be supporting Yooka-Laylee, don't let the door hit you on the way out

I really wish I could get my money back for backing this game... Oh wait, I have an idea! Playtonic, I do not support mass immigration and am able to recognize facts and statistics, so since I'm a threat to diversity and you don't want to be associated with anyone who has a different political opinion than you, can you give me my money back?

So Playtonics set the precedent that they will drop a Backer if they have different political views.

So if that is so (because they dropped Jon) everyone here who has a political opinion that is not in line with the folks who made the decision to drop JonTron should also be dropped.

By using this logic, we should easily be able to get a refund if we just state our political opinion (assuming it's unfavorable to Playtonic staff).

But they haven't replied to my messages via Backerkit & kickstarter.

Does this mean that they are just money grubbing? Who knows!

I'm just sad man, A Hat in Time didn't pull this stunt.

There is a theory going around that there was also pressure from team 17 to take this action. The Devs obviously knew they were making a controversial decision. Shortly after the announcement they put their accounts on protected mode on Twitter. Only people who followed them before this incident can see their tweets. It's a shame because they were so open and friendly but when a backlash is coming you got to do what you got to do.
