Hi guys.
Apologies for the lack of information on this. I appreciate it might be frustrating for some of you but there's nothing more to report since our last update: we're still aiming to release the Toybox in 'early 2016'.
It will still be released many months before the final game and totally exclusive to Kickstarter backers.
This is a broad release window, purely because the team is still working hard to get the final game up to the quality levels you expect by the end of this year, and at the same time create a cool bespoke gameplay toy for our backers. We're confident you'll be pleased with it when it finally releases, but we want you to be equally delighted with the final game... So please be patient! We want to impress you with our final products, not how quickly we can pump things out.
It's worth reiterating again that the Toybox isn't a traditional 'demo': it's a self-contained gameplay 'toy' experience designed to give backers a feel for Yooka and Laylee ahead of the final game. We had to make sure everything was nailed down before we could deliver an authentic preview.
Development is going well and I'm positive you'll be pleased when we finally blow the lid off and show you the final game. This date is approaching - I'm swirling around the early embers right now. The plan is still to release at the end of the year, so if you keep that date in mind everything else will fall in to place as we approach the final stretch
