So, with the basics of the storyline having been revealed, I can't help but wonder: How does Trowzer fit into all of this? Is he in any way connected to Hivory Towers and / or QuackCorp or is he just his own, separate character that does his own thing?
My theory would be that he was a failure at Hivory Towers once and that the company let him go, leaving him to do his own "business" which just so happens to include Yooka and Laylee and their way through Hivory Towers.
Any other ideas you guys might have?

Hmm...

My gut feeling was that he's just a travelling salesman. A lone wolf.

However, it would make more sense if he has a past with Hivory Towers, therefore knowing secrets etc. that can help you progress further into the lair.

Yeah the more I've seen, I think Trowzer is an independent party. Especially with the backstory he had previously, but it doesn't sound like he would have worked for QuackCorp.

I think our thoughts are on the right track here.
He somewhat alread has his own backstory and Rare has certainly been inclined to make "gag" characters who sort of fulfill their own funny role apart from or in spite of a games overall story.
At the same time we observe this game already contains a lot of backstory, there are ways that Trowser maybe *could* be connected, and Playtonkc seems inclined to make their universe surprisingly lore-rich!

I can't say his name without hearing Inspector Gadget's voice.

I was also thinking of his shady past.

Edit; there was never an eyepatch, faulty memory.

I've just noticed something about Trowzer.

In the most recent art . It appears we no longer have the one-eyed trouser snake.

Perhaps the eyepatch was a bit tooooo on the nose to sneak past censors?

I was JUST thinking that.

"Guess I'll have to get the Eye-Patch mod once the game is out."

LMAO! Nice call.

Yeah, Trowzer never had an eye patch. I don't think it'd suit his character either; puns shouldn't be forced in for the sake of it.

Although maybe his animation could have him wink or hold one eye closed as a little quirk/reference.

I think the character looks nicer with two eyes.

It's debatable if the characters gag is more funny with one or two eyes. The character's gag is pretty overt either way

EDIT: No patch in the original artwork. Seems to be missing an eye, rather than winking.

Maybe at some point, he will get frozen stiff, or he hears a funny joke while drinking milk. :?

There was definitely a concept image somewhere of him with an eye patch. I can't dig through every demo video, twitter, etc account to find it, but I'm certain I saw it. A lot of discussion on the subreddit reflects that others have seen it as well.
