locking the thread will only accomplish making angry people angrier. And spread it out more, I'm telling you to just let this run it's course. Ive seen it happen over and over again with various controversies. the mroe you lock threads, the more you ban unpopular opinions, the more you try to shut things down the more it get out there and the more credence you give the critics.

Avoid the Streisand effect.

Go ahead and discuss it elsewhere if you must. I'm not affiliated with Playtonic, I just moderate these forums, and I'm losing my patience with people signing up over this to cause trouble. Not everyone, of course, but enough to begin to tire me out. I have no clue what's happening on the Steam forums, but I've not silenced anybody here except for those advocating piracy and such in retaliation to this situation.

I said JonTron's opinions were wholly inappropriate because they are. It all comes down to context; Playtonic clearly find the comments inappropriate, so it makes perfect sense that they do not want to include him in the game.

Do I think Playtonic probably should have said nothing and did nothing? Maybe. It's not my position to say, I'm just making sure things are running peacefully here. Peaceful discussion is good -- hateful speech is not.

The more I think on it, the less sympathetic I feel towards Playtonic in all of this. Yes, JonTron obviously should have never been in the game for an abundance of reasons (), but the people dissenting right now are an audience that Playtonic willingly teamed up with Jon pre-Kickstarter to exploit. The truth is that Playtonic isn't at all innocent in this hostage situation, meaning they can't just cave to a single NeoGAF thread and then pretend that any duality to this is Fake News or nonexistent. That's...not responsible behavior.

(Oh, and David Wise was pro-Brexit by the way. Just throwing that out there for...well, literally no reason actually.)

Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.

Ok, done now? This went from hilarious to outright creepy. If I had finished my education with the passion some of you gents argue with here I'd have become president of the United States by now.

Oh and hey there Punk dude going all

"I think you're forgetting one very important fact... This isn't strictly Playtonic's game, it's OURS. You know, the fans who backed it? This product is being made with our money. Don't ever lose sight of that, you forget your place in all this."

You should really settle down for a moment and realise that what you are saying is just plain bollocks, I'd become angry over your words because they're so entitled and wrong but then I realise we're talking about a friggin game here.

There are no tantrums In this thread Taylor. Everybody has valid points and has the right to express them. This isn't yooka not wearing any clothes or shovel knight being added. This is a serious topic. It's about principal.

Playtonic have altered their game due to political beliefs which is bang out of order. And they have made it clear that anybody with different political views than their own aren't welcome in their game. Grant Kirkhope uses all of his social media to vomit his strong political views on his fans. But playtonic doesn't bat an eyelid.

If Jontron had have committed a crime then fair enough. But political views? No that doesn't fly with me. He should never have even been considered to be removed.
