Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

Postby Jim » Sat Mar 14, 2015 6:02 pm

Ok, let's see...
I really don't want 10 levels of the same theme.Like in most of recent 2d Mario's,8 ice levels, 8 fire levels, etc. It's boring, and not creative.
I don't want a HYPER COMPLEX history.Save it for RPGs.
I don't want guns of any type.

I don't think you have to worry about any of that. Especially 1 and 3.

It's likely to just have between 6-10 expansive levels like BK, rather than dozens of smaller levels like the Mario games.

L.O.G.

You're not welcome anymore. You're snarky, stuck up and self-indulgent. Make your innovative and amazingly groundbreaking original car editor games at some other genres expense. And don't insult the genre of games you're essentially hijacking by making flawed arguments based on overly generalized situations. Get out. I'm sticking with the lighthearted witch who makes fun and creative rhymes without blowing her own trumpet about how the developer's creative process went on behind the scenes. When I press the ON switch on my console I want to play an immersive game with an interesting world of characters, not listen to a lecture on game design.

The only one thing what I don't want in the game is a chameleon as a main character. :D

I don't want too much backtracking. Tooie really was a bit too much for me -- I loved the game, but I LOVED Kazooie a little bit more. I don't mind backtracking for cool secrets and such, but I don't want to be forced to backtrack in order to move forward.

You don't want a coconut gun or a peanut gun? Or a first person kazooie level segment with, this time, real FPS PC Masterrace controls?

I think there's not to be worried, but I hope there are no stats and leveling, nor any kind of item inventory. A Hat In Time for instance comes close to the line (badges upgrades and all that) since it's partly inspired by Zelda games.

The LAST thing I want is colorful fun worlds and characters.

I hope there's not a lot of COLLECTING in this game, that'd be the WORST!

I don't want boring characters and dialogue, nor do i want useless moves in the game. Every move/ability should be usefull. I don't want a big focus on a story and most importantly, i don't want the game to have alot meaningless tasks. Thanks.

I like collectathon style games. What I don't want is characters with really really weird controls. Whatever the new characters are, they really need to feel natural to control and easy to love and appreciate.

I like backtracking, but I don't want to have to go through every single level 5 times with 5 different characters just to collect identical things that only they each can collect individually. Any level of backtracking up to that point would be fine, though.

The thing I really do not want to see is Exlusivity to any console.

I think this game should be released on every platform that can run it. I find it incredibly sad when gamers boast about how others can not play the same games because they have a different console or PC. That kind of thinking only benefits big, soulless companies and we should instead hope that this game reaches as many people as possible.

So I think the game needs to be on PC, Wii U, Ps4 and Xbox One. Since the PS3 and X360 are roughly as powerful as the Wii U, maybe even on those. Probably Mac and Linux as well. Maybe PS Vita too.

My point is that it has never been as easy to port games to different systems as now, and there is no reason not to do so.

Canary Mary.

If they sneak in one character from BK you can bet it'll be her though. Which would be amazing, of course, so consider my point facetious.

Two things I hope not to see in this game are:
1. Generic world themes, like "fireland", "iceland", "waterland", etc.
2. Scary worlds. As a kid I really disliked this in games (and I still do). Levels like the ghosthouse in Mario 64 (that piano... brr..), the redeads in Zelda OoT and MM, creepy castle in DK64 (even though great music). It's just something I didn't want to be confronted with as a kid.
I hope to see instead unique themes a kid (and therefore the child in me) would love, like (as you did before) space, a theme park, dinosaurs, or cloud cuckooland. And if you really want to include a darker or underground level, make it more like the Glitter Gulch Mine: Fun theme, jolly music, and lots of lights. :P

Please do not turn this into a racing game where you custom create your own cars and destroy the hopes and dreams of the people who were looking forward to this game while you laugh in their face.
