This actually sounds like a cool idea. Banjo-Kazooie often made the inside of a room bigger than the building's exterior, so I can totally see something like this happening.

You could jump into practically anything, like a snow globe as you say, and be transported into a totally new environment. Pagies collected would count towards the main level, of course, and not have its own sub-world totals.

I agree with you. Sub-worlds would certainly create room for more environmental variation! Maybe every level could have a sub-world (or minigame) within it in which you would unlock a single Pagie. For example, you may enter a snow globe that contains a Yeti boss fight, or some difficult platforming, and at the end of the challenge you'd be transported back to the main world.

No confirmation yet. Most people are presuming it'll be the same as the Banjo games; 10 Pagies in each level.

I think sub-worlds sound like they could be cool. Are there any other 3D platformers that have made good use of this concept?

I love it when that happens. Big Boo's Haunt in Mario 64 was always one of my favorite levels just because of how well the unorthodox entrance fits with the design of that world.

I would love to see another subworld set in a body of a giant monster/animal, but this time with more places to explore like head, stomach, chest etc. Ohh and I would really love to see more with trash or various objects ... like in Cloudcuckooland there was a accessible giant trashcan or a cheese wedge, but this time world specific because it was kinda random and awkward to have a trashcan or a cheese wedge in the sky but it was still a very enjoyable world.
