You gotta have the mumble voices, man. That's kind of signature Banjo-Kazooie. Glad that people are rushing to its defense.
Yeah, there are a lot of good things about the mumble voices which have been mentioned. You can speed up dialogue, don't need to have translators or risk sub-par voice acting (and don't say "well playtonic can just hire good actors!!!1" because, sorry, you'll need to find good voice actors in a jillion languages), etc etc.
But the absolute BEST part? The insults and innuendos!!!
The writers can throw in all kinds of laced dialogue that's just WAY more hilarious read. These videos point out only a few of the best gems (just mute it and watch it 1.5x speed because it's slow and the music is annoying imho)

Plus, think about the younger kids playing it. They will have no idea what the jokes mean and still have a great time. But as soon as Mom from the other room overhears the spoken dialogue about todgers and knackers? Sorry, the game goes in the trash! What a travesty.
