I don't want too much reliance on "nests". Remember those in Banjo-Tooie? Nests full of notes, eggs, and feathers? Because of those things, there was a lot less collecting going on. In the trailers and other videos shown, it does look like it's retaining more of the 1:1 collecting that was in Banjo-Kazooie, where collecting one object onscreen replenished just one of whatever it represented. One note, one honeycomb, etc. I wouldn't mind some of them, like it looks like power-ups probably replenish themselves infinitely... I think... and extra health boosts may be fine as well. It looks as though the developers likely know this, but it's not something I really see being spoken about. Too many "nests" makes for more barren levels and less gameplay/collecting.
Also an over-reliance on "memes" and pop culture in general... generally-speaking, anyway. Definitely want the game timeless, but of course we can expect (and have even seen) a few wonderful little Banjo-Kazooie references here and there, and if a cat says something about wanting a cheeseburger, that might be kind of cute. It shouldn't be on too thick. Then again, these are the guys who made Conker's Bad Fur Day, which does have some of this stuff, and I think it was handled there pretty well, so they seem to know what they're doing.
